
De-Slagging & Drill Burr Removal
Here are just a few new approaches and viable methods that can be used for de-slagging and drill burr removal. These are suitable for many processes, depending on whether you are geared up for manual or automated cutting and the degree of finishing required.
This machinery can be used for the effective removal of slag and any heat affected zones caused by Oxy- or Plasma-Cutting. They are also suitable for the removal of major standing burrs from drilling in combination with or without surface grinding.
There is a choice of equipment available which will depend on the fabrication processes and rate of the workload. The most common method is to use an initial abrasive to bring the slag down to manageable proportions, followed by a second abrasive, to generally or selectively deburr the remainder with one or more brushes to smooth the edges. The same principal can also be applied with other machines in this range, which are suited to lighter slag such as plasma.
